A lot has changed at Harley-Davidson Sales & Service over the years. When we began in 1962 we had one motorcycle for sale and just a handful of customers. Needless to say, communication with our customers was limited to talks at the shop. As our business started to grow, we realized that we needed to communicate with our customers through mailings to their homes. Marv and I became copy writers, printers and envelope stuffers. Some of our earliest mailings to our customers were printed on an old mimeograph machine and hand-addressed by Marv and I. We kept our customer database on 3x5 index cards, hand-written and stored in a recipe-size card file box. We didn't even know what a computer was at the time. That card file expanded many times and in 1974 we bought an early edition copier with Marv's Vietnam bonus. Boy, we sure thought we were high-tech then!
We now have a selection of over 100 motorcycles to choose from and a customer database of over 9500 people. Every day we welcome more and more people to the Harley-Davidson Sales & Service family.

Always focusing on better service, the dealership now boasts a staff of 25 including a Service Manager, Sales Manager, Parts Manager and a phenomenal group of individuals who share the same pride, passion and commitment as their employers. From a staff of three to a staff of 25, through additions, renovations and new construction, the foundation that started Harley-Davidson Sales & Service remains: to service customers with honesty, responsibility, and above all else provide excellent service. To this foundation, loyal customers from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana can return, year after year, knowing they will find not only the oldest dealership in the area, but also a group of people who will give their best service to all who walk through the doors.
Thank you for being a part of our history! |
